Five connected areas of work
Across the Black Volta River Basin, Afrivoices works through five connected service areas that link resilient agriculture, inclusive livelihoods, climate information, basin governance and community voice. We work with communities and partners to develop practical responses shaped by local priorities, knowledge and evidence.
We train farmers in sustainable, regenerative farming techniques (e.g. agroforestry, cover crops) that build healthy soils, boost yields, and adapt to climate change. By combining traditional knowledge with innovations, we help restore fertility and food security across the basin.
We empower young people and women to create climate-resilient businesses, green jobs, and sustainable livelihoods along the basin.
We connect farmers to timely information, digital advisory services, and practical climate-smart farming knowledge to help communities make better data-driven decisions that enhance their livelihood.
We convene communities, traditional authorities, local governments, researchers, civil society, and development partners to strengthen dialogue and collective action. Through advocacy, stakeholder forums, evidence generation, and policy engagement, we promote inclusive governance, sustainable resource management, and shared responsibility for the future.
We amplify the lived experience of basin communities through storytelling, media, and digital campaigns, carrying farmer and youth testimony to policymakers, donors, and the public, and positioning community members as spokespeople for their own climate priorities.
